Candle Care

Your candle is a living thing, it has a memory, and it requires good care and a little love to keep performing well.

The below instructions are for the safety of you, your home, and those around you when burning candles. Please follow them at all times, as failure to do so may result in fire and/or injury. There is a small sticker on the base of your candle, and a candle care card that arrived with it to remind you of these instructions.

  • Burn your candle for a minimum of two hours for it's first burn, or until the wax melts all the way to the edge of the glass.
  • The best way to light a wooden wick is to tilt the candle on an angle and let the flame draw across the length of the wick.
  • For optimal burn, keep your wood wick trimmed to about 3mm (trim before every burn), and clean off any burnt wood from previous use.
  • Place candle on a stable, heat resistant surface away from flammable objects and drafts before lighting. Never move a candle while lit.
  • Adhere to the maximum burn time (max 3-4 hours).
  • Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
  • Discontinue use when 2cm of wax remains, the metal tab at the base of the wick can overheat and cause your glass to crack.
  • Once your final burn is complete, why not clean out your jar and repurpose it? To remove the remaining wax, simply wipe it out with hot water or place the jar in a freezer for 30 minutes to pop the wax out. Please dispose of excess wax in the bin as wax clogs drains! Please also do not re-fill it with your own wick/wax for safety reasons - we suggest they be used as flower vases, to store cotton buds or stationery, a small succulent planter, or any other weird and wonderful use.
